Thermotransfer
Marking groupsThermal transfer printing is a technique where an image is heated into a substrate. First, the image is adhered to a special transfer (backing) ribbon, and then it is transferred to substrate using a thermal print head which generates temperature of approximately 150°C.
Thermal transfer printing is a technique which uses heat to print a specially prepared image onto a substrate. This is done using great pressure and high temperature. First, the design is printed on a special transfer ribbon, and then the ink – and so, the image – is transferred to the substrate using a thermal transfer printer – a head is pressed against the surface at approximately 150°C. This method is great for printing first of all on textiles and plastics.
1. Colours - possibility to create aesthetically-pleasant, multicoloured prints, with accurate colour reproduction.
2. Precision - in the process of thermal transfer printing, the edges of the print area remain clean, and the image is transferred to the product with extreme precision.
3. Low price - thermal transfer printing is cost-effective, even for low-volume jobs.
